About the Festival
The Upstart Crow is ending its 43rd season and beginning its 44th. We’ve enjoyed a creative collaboration with Something Different Denver over the past year. While new works often are not celebrated as much as our classical ones, even Shakespeare, the original “upstart crow”, was once thought brash and decidedly something different at the time.
This festival aims to celebrate new works including Gamer Girl, fresh off a fabulous speed run at Fringe Fest 2024. Likewise, Alice in Wonderland: an Anarchist Ballet is a fresh dramatic expression sure to ensorcell your mind.
Local playwrights, Katherine Dubois and Steven Russell bring a fresh perspective on timeless ideas with their shows Henry VII and the Pretenders and Shakespeare in COVID.
Not to be outdone, Something Different is bringing its trademark variety show to the stage and also is presenting a musician showcase MUSIC! during the festival, just for you.
And a variety of performers, some TUC Crows while others are new to you, will bring you their cacophonous yet euphonious stylings in A Cabaret of Crows: An Attempted Murder
