Harassment & Discrimination Policy Statement

TUC’s Harassment and Non-Discrimination Policy:

Last Updated: February 22, 2024

In order to promote a respectful and productive work environment, harassment of any kind is not acceptable at The Upstart Crow (TUC). TUC prohibits harassment and discrimination based upon an individual’s age, race, sex, color, creed, religion, national origin, native language, sexual orientation, transgender status, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, ancestry, marital status, gender, veteran status, military status, political service, affiliation or disability.  These activities include, but are not limited to, selection of volunteers and vendors, and provision of services to our patrons and students. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all of our patrons, volunteers, and vendors.

Harassment occurs when unwelcome verbal or physical conduct, because of its severity and/or persistence, interferes significantly with an individual’s work or safety, or adversely affects performance conditions.  Harassment also occurs when a person uses a position of authority to engage in unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature.
