Two minor characters from Shakespeare’s Hamlet find themselves in a world where the rules of logic and physics have begun to fail. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern flip a coin that comes up heads ninety-two times in a row, a startling event that signals they are no longer in control of their own story.

As they wander the halls of Elsinore Castle, they struggle to remember why they were summoned, what their mission is, and even which one is which. Caught between the grand tragedy of Prince Hamlet and the arrival of a mysterious troupe of players, they are forced to navigate a reality where they are simultaneously the protagonists and the footnotes. Stoppard’s Tony Award winning comedy is a brilliant exploration of fate, free will, and the absurdity of being a small part in a large, incomprehensible machine.

There will be a post-show talkback after one of our shows, TBD.
Audience members are invited to stay after the performance to discuss the play and production with cast members and the director.
