M. Shane Grant made the leap from acting to directing when he discovered he enjoyed rehearsing more than performing. Through the process of discovery, embracing difficult or frustrating moments, and leaning in to collaboration with cast members, designers, and crew, he finds the rehearsal process exhilarating. Shane’s directing credits come primarily from academic and community theatres. He received a Master’s degree with an emphasis on Directing from Miami University of Ohio, where he directed Wendy MacLeod’s The House of Yes. He went on to pursue a Ph.D. in theatre at Florida State university. While in Tallahassee he had the privilege of directing Angels in America, Part Two: Perestroika and The Foreigner. Some other favorite directing credits at colleges and universities include Marsha Norman’s Getting Out, No Exit, Distracted (by Lisa Loomer), Almost, Maine, and The Last Five Years. His local community theatre credits include You Can’t Take It With You with Moon Theatre. For Coal Creek Theater of Louisville he’s directed Epic Proportions, Stop Kiss, and Time Stands Still. This fall he’ll be directing Doubt, A Parable, also at Coal Creek. Auditions are two weeks away and he’d love to see you there!

Stephany Roscoe has loved live theater all her life. She was fortunate to have a mentor in high school who harnessed her oldest child bossiness by starting her on the path to directing early. After college she found herself in a company that produced all original works, where she gained the gift of looking at each work as a fresh piece of art. In Colorado she has served on the board of the CCTC, founded one theater company (Oddball) and was a founding member of another (BETC). She has directed, acted and continues to love theater as a fabulous source of community and creativity, a necessity for her soul.
